You'll often find me in my own thoughts – often a little too introspective for my own good.
I find beauty in the little details and I cherish the excitement that comes from innovative collaboration.

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

I’m an Actor
My calling
Therapy in and of itself is utterly fulfilling – but helping others find their voice is the greatest reward.
Storytelling that can even make a stranger feel seen and understood drives my love for performance.
My INTERNAL WORLD
The essence of a romantic life is not to live in a delusional state – but to abide by the practice of paying attention to the present moment and bringing awareness to your most inner desires in a nonjudgmental way. It is to live and honour your ideal life as though you are already living it... because you are.
I’m a Romantic
I believe there is value in romanticizing your life – to find the little joys that make each day lovely.
With love, Shanelle Connell
UBCP - ACTRA // RP (Qualifying)
her Dreams fuelled by daily cappuccinos and a daring personality
Homegrown in Calgary, Alberta, Shanelle had a vibrant love for acting from a young age. Starting with active participation in theatre programs and performance-based schools, Shanelle quickly moved from hobbyist to professional upon breaking into the commercial and print sector before moving to British Columbia as a teenager.
After a few years, she took a small hiatus from acting to complete her studies and receive her BA in Psychology from the University of British Columbia–Okanagan. Following, she enrolled in a Master's degree program, and it was then that she re-entered the film and television market – landing her first audition in years. In A Wedding to Remember, Shanelle debuted on-screen as the quirky best friend, Frankie. Since then, she's graciously been able to enter the supporting role space in films like horror-thriller Amorosa (starring Trezzo Maharo) and other indie projects.
Much of her acting career budded while committing herself to achieving her MA in Counselling Psychology – exemplifying her determination and respectable work ethic both on and off set. Shanelle has completed training intensives offered by The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and regularly sought 1-on-1 coaching with the Emmy-Award Winning Performance Coach, Clay Banks. Lastly, in fall 2022, she joined the CMPA as a producer and diligently works under the umbrella of Visionary Productions Inc.
If her leisure time ever exists... You'll often find Shanelle participating in activities hosted by her Métis community, socializing at film events, and actively brainstorming ways to bring better mental health support to the industry – such as launching her Film/TV-focused practice, Therapy: Off Script.
Don't worry – when the coffee runs out, she's got a lot of faith that keeps her going.
