Shanelle Connell

A FEW OF MY

PAST EVENTS
+ TALKS

Fuelled with passion for her purpose, Shanelle Connell aims to inspire confidence in the world-changers around her. She covers topics like self-efficacy, overcoming toxic relationships, building strong interpersonal connections and more. Her focus is to ensure that whomever attends one of her talks (or events) will leave knowing they have the permission to value themselves and conquer any challenge that comes their way. Being a world-changer starts when you believe that you can be fearless when faced with vulnerability. And Shanelle is positive that you can.

The Pageant 360 organization and Go Impact conference focuses on learning to love yourself and celebrating our inner-beauty as young women around the globe. Their 2017 theme is the importance of 'Reflection' and Shanelle was invited to be a keynote speaker this summer at both events in Texas and California.

Through the University of British Columbia Okanagan, Shanelle was asked to to speak at the Westbank Lions Community Hall on Older Adult Sexuality. Shanelle and two other research assistants covered topics like: age related changes, STIs, confidence in the bedroom, online dating, and much more.

Hosted by SwayzeAck MusicElevate Kelowna is a platform venue for musicians, entrepreneurs, and artists to get involved in their community. Shanelle was invited to speak on how to find your business tribe, overcome networking challenges, and establishing self-efficacy as an entrepreneur.

Shanelle has been invited to high schools and middle schools across the Okanagan and in her local area of Kelowna to speak on behalf of mental health advocacy (with the CMHA), healthy relationships and confidence (with the Elizabeth Fry Society), and many more important topics that younger generations need to be educated on. Past schools include Dr. Knox Middle School, Spring Valley Middle School, and others that circulate the central Okanagan area. Shanelle believe's that it's important to make an impact on these kids, as they are the future and deserve to be encouraged and inspired.

Where and what will Shanelle speak on next? That is for you to decide. She is more than happy to speak with you about future bookings for women's events, school assemblies, or exciting conferences that you have planned for the next year!

Shanelle's education background hasn't been the most conventional of sorts. From originally starting in Computer Sciences believing she'd become a software developer, to now pursing Psychology and the mentality behind love- she certainly can be considered a jack of all trades.

Education
+ Courses

Graphic + Digital Design Diploma

In October 2015, Shanelle graduated top of her program with the Excellence of Achievement award for her phenomenal work and dedication to her courses. The Graphic and Digital Design program at the Centre for Arts and Technology was built upon teaching students how to properly craft and market long lasting brands- so that they can launch a stable career in the growing web and advertising field. Shanelle learnt valuable branding skills and marketing techniques during her time at CATO, and she's thankful for how she's not able to apply them to her everyday life and businesses.

Bachelor of arts in PSYCHOLOgy

Originally, Shanelle started her studies in the Bachelor of Science program for Computer Science in the fall of 2013. She then left in 2014 to pursue Graphic Design, but has now returned in 2016 to the University of British Columbia Okanagan to finish her degree in the area she was meant to be in... Psychology. Shanelle fell involve with Psychology after taking a course with Dr. Jocelyn Wentland over the summer and has not regretted her step forward into the field since. She plans on getting her Masters in Counselling or Social Work one day, and potentially following up with a Ph.D.
